KINGDOM KIDS

Purpose Statement

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Children are the legacy and heritage of the church. TTWC’s goal is to equip the next generation to know and to grow in the love of Jesus Christ; in order that the heart of children may honor, respect, treasure God and live as faithful disciples for the glory of God and in the Body of Christ.

Ministry Goals

  • To empower children to be “Kingdom Builders for Christ” by nurturing their spiritual growth and development through the proper teaching of God’s Word in a fun, interactive, and positive atmosphere.
  • To nurture the faith of the next generations of believers by equipping the church and home with resources and training that instruct the mind, engage the heart, and influence the will through proclaiming the whole counsel of God.
  • To continually build a God-centered children’s ministry fueled by a biblical vision for worship, biblical literacy, and faith in the next generation.
  • To involve the willing participation of pastors, parents, congregation and children’s ministry workers in an earnest effort to proclaim the praiseworthy name and testimony of the Lord to children of all ages.

Ministry Opportunity

The Kingdom Kids Ministry currently serves children ages 3 – 12. When a child attends a Kingdom Kids session, he/she will take part in an exciting and interactive worship experience that includes songs, games, crafts, and a lesson that will take them on an exciting journey through the bible! Each bible lesson is designed to instill practical, biblical principles that the children can use every day. The Kingdom Kids Ministry is seeking teachers, assistants, chaperones, people with special skills and talents (arts and crafts, etc.), and partners who love serving children – our future church. There are varying opportunities for service. Whether you desire to serve a one-time appearance or work on a regular basis, the children need you. All participants must pass a criminal background check. Prior experience is not needed to serve on this ministry. Training will be available for all volunteers.

Kingdom Kids Ministry Frequently Asked Questions

Will I have to register my child for children’s church?

Prior to your child attending a Kingdom Kids session, a parent/guardian MUST complete a Kingdom Kids Ministry Profile Form for each of their children who desire to attend children’s church. This form contains important information such as emergency contact information, any special needs your child may have, allergies, etc. This form is only required to be completed the first time your child attends. The form will be kept on file and must be updated if any of the information changes.

Are background checks required for those working with the children?

Yes. Anyone who is interested in joining the Kingdom Kids Ministry volunteer team is required to successfully complete a criminal background check AND be approved prior to volunteering in any Kingdom Kids Ministry volunteer position.

Will my child have the same teacher each week?

Although your child will not have the same teacher each week, all teachers on the Kingdom Kids Ministry team are highly trained to ensure that your child has a great experience!

My child has a food allergy. Will snacks be served?

Yes. A snack is served at the end of the Kingdom Kids session. If a child has a food allergy, a parent/guardian MUST include this on the required Kingdom Kids Ministry Profile Form. Parents are also welcomed to provide their child with their own snack to enjoy!

How will I be contacted if a problem arises with my child?

In the unfortunate event that a problem arises during children’s church such as illness or behavioral issues, a Kingdom Kids Ministry assistant will escort your child back to you for the remainder of the worship service, along with a written explanation as to the nature of the incident. Upon the conclusion of the worship service, the Kingdom Kids teacher will be happy to discuss any further details or answer any questions that you may have.

As children’s church volunteers, we understand the importance of your child feeling comfortable and becoming acclimated to a new environment. When they feel comfortable, they can have a more enjoyable experience. Parents/guardians are welcome to come and quietly observe a Kingdom Kids session with their child. We believe the best way that a parent can become involved in what their child is learning is to be a part of the team that teaches them. On behalf of the entire Kingdom Kids Ministry team, we look forward to serving you and your family.
